Financial Aid

2008-2009 Financial Aid Checklist

Students who are applying for Federal Loans such as the Federal Stafford Loan or the Graduate PLUS Loan must complete and submit the following to the Financial Aid Office:

__ FAFSA

Must be submitted electronically by April 15, 2008. You can access the website at www.fafsa.ed.gov. If you completed a FAFSA for the 2007-2008 academic year, you may complete a renewal application. Most of your information will be populated and you will just need to update your financial information and any other item that has changed. Please review your information carefully to avoid mistakes that could delay the processing of your request for financial aid. (If you are applying for institutional aid as well, the sections requesting parental information must also be completed on the FAFSA).

__ UConn Application – Part I

All students who are seeking financial assistance must complete this form (PDF).

__ Signed Copy of the Student’s 2007 Federal Tax Return

(1040, 1040A or 1040EZ plus all schedules and attachments) or a Student Non-Tax Filer Statement (PDF) if you did not and will not file a 2007 Federal Tax Return.

__ Copies of Student’s 2007 W-2 Statements

All paperwork required by the Financial Aid Office (UConn Application Part I, 1040 and W-2’s) must be submitted to the Financial Aid Office together as a packet. Incomplete packets will not be accepted and will be returned to the student for completion. Your file will not be read until we have received your FAFSA information from the Department of Education and have received all documentation that has been requested.

Students who are also interested in institutional funding such as Tuition Remission and University Loans, must also complete and submit these additional forms.

__ UConn Application – Part II

All students who are seeking Institutional Assistance (Tuition Remission and University Loans) must complete this form (PDF).

__ Signed Copy of the Parent(s) 2007 Federal Tax Return

(1040, 1040A or 1040EZ plus all schedules and attachments) or a Non-Tax Filer Statement  (PDF) if you did not and will not file a 2007 Federal Tax Return.

__ Copies of Parent(s) 2007 W-2 Statements

All paperwork required by the Financial Aid Office (UConn Application Part I and Part II, Student and Parent 1040’s or Non-Tax Filer forms if required, and Student and Parent W-2’s) must be submitted together as a packet. Incomplete packets will not be accepted and will be returned to the student for completion. Your file will not be read until we have received your FAFSA information from the Department of Education and have received all documentation that has been requested.
