I am just beginning my graduate portion of the M.D./Ph.D. program and have decided to work in a lab that studies oligodendrocytes, the myelinating cells of the central nervous system. Although I haven’t decided on a thesis project, it will likely involve studying oligodendrocyte differentiation and development, and proteomic analysis of myelin membrane proteins.

Even though I’m in grad school, I try to retain my clinical skills by volunteering in the student run clinics. When I have free time I enjoy photography, watching independent movies, playing the guitar, and drumming on my djembe (an African hand drum). While school often keeps me busy, I still manage to take time to explore Hartford, relax, and have fun.
