I am in the graduate student phase of my program right now, studying the regulation of a liver specific microRNA in the Bonkovsky Lab.

The microRNA, miR-122, has many important functions in the liver, including the regulation of cholesterol and fatty acid biosynthesis. My project is geared towards teasing apart the mechanisms responsible for the regulation of this microRNA to perhaps understand how and why it is liver specific.

My long-term goals will hopefully incorporate practice and research. I would like to pursue a residency in internal medicine and, maybe, a fellowship in gastroenterology.

When I am not at the Health Center, I like to read, run, play soccer, and hang out with my friends.
