I have recently completed my doctorate in neuroscience and am very excited about my impending return to medical school in the Summer of 2006 for clinical rotations. UConn Health Center's
devotion to high-quality basic biomedical and clinical research was one of the chief aspects that led to my matriculation in the M.D./Ph.D. program.
My four year tenure as a graduate student in the neuroscience department has served to strengthen that initial observation. In terms of clinical education, the UConn Health Center has provided
excellent systems-based instruction and patient-based education. While I am nervous after spending four years away from the clinic, I feel adequately prepared for the intensive clinical
encounters of third and fourth year of medical school.
In addition to academics, I have carved an extracurricular niche for myself with many friends and interests. In contrast to what many people believe, the greater Hartford area has plenty of
outstanding restaurants and interesting art of diverse genres if you investigate beneath the surface. I have also found adequate leisure time to pursue outside interests, e.g., I play
percussion in an Indie rock group based in the greater Hartford area and attend rock concerts in Hartford, New Haven, New York City and Boston as time and funds permit. If you’d like to know
more, feel free to e-mail me. |
