Post-Baccalaureate Frequently Asked Questions


Q. What is the difference between Full Year Minority Program, Program A and Program B?

Full Year Minority Program
This program is geared toward underrepresented minority students. The program includes a fall and spring semester as well as summer program.

Program A – Two-year Program
For individuals who do not have the required science courses for application to medical school.

Program B – One-year Program
For individuals who desire to pursue upper division science courses to strengthen their science backgrounds.

Q. Do I need to provide copies of all standardized tests?

A. No – you can just list your scores. If you do have a copy of your test scores please attach to the application.

Q. Who should the letters of recommendation come from?

A. Letters of recommendation may come from advisory committee, professors and employment-related letter.

Q. What is the GPA that is required for the program?

A. There are no set numeric standards. The committee considers the entire academic history of an applicant.

Q. Will I be guaranteed a seat in the medical school class if I complete this program?

A. The Admissions Committee can grant a contingency admission to the school of medicine. The committee grants roughly 1/3 of the admissions offered.
